Supreme Judicial Court invites amicus briefs on Superior Court's dismissal of invasion-of-privacy counts in State of Maine v. Mark W. Strong Sr.

The Maine Supreme Judicial Court, sitting as the Law Court, invites briefs of amici curiae on an issue presented in State of Maine v. Mark W. Strong Sr., Law Court docket number Yor-13-55, scheduled to be argued on February 13, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. The question presented is whether the trial court properly dismissed forty-six counts of the pending indictment related to 17-A M.R.S. § 511.

An amicus brief may be filed by or on behalf of any individual, entity, or group of individuals and/or entities, without separate leave of the Court. All amicus briefs must be filed on or before February 4, 2013 at 4:00 p.m., at the address listed below, and must comply with M.R. App. P. 7(c), 9(e)(1), and 9(f). In addition to filing and serving the required number of copies, any amicus must send a copy of the brief electronically, as a single pdf file, to lawcourt.clerk@courts.maine.gov.
