NOTICE OF OPPORTUNITY FOR ADDITIONAL COMMENT--
PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO MAINE RULES OF CRIMINAL PROCEDURE

COMMENTS DUE ON OR BEFORE FRIDAY, MARCH 15, 2013 AT 4:00 P.M.

On November 26, 2012, the Supreme Judicial Court invited comments on a proposed amendment to the Maine Rules of Criminal Procedure. The Court received several comments and referred the comments to the Advisory Committee on the Rules of Criminal Procedure for further consideration. On February 27, 2013, the Court received a response from the Advisory Committee; the response included an amended proposal. The originally proposed amendment, the comments received, and the Advisory Committee's response are available below and are available for inspection and copying at the Clerk's office during normal business hours.

The Court invites final comments on the proposed amendment. Any comments should be filed with the Clerk of the Supreme Judicial Court by Friday, March 15, 2013, at 4:00 p.m. Comments in writing should be mailed to the address below. Comments sent via email may be in the text of an email or in an attachment to an email, addressed to lawcourt.clerk@courts.maine.gov. If the comments are in an attachment, the attachment must be a document in portable document format (.pdf). The Clerk's Office will acknowledge receipt of the email via a reply email.

All comments must contain (1) the name, mailing address, and telephone number of the individual submitting the comments; and (2) the name, mailing address, and primary telephone number of the organization (if any) on whose behalf the comments are submitted. An individual need not be an attorney to submit comments on behalf of an organization.
