Proposed Amendments to
Maine Rules of Probate Procedure
and Probate Court Forms
Comments due on or before
Monday, March 11, 2013, at 4:00 p.m.
The Supreme Judicial Court is considering (1) amendments to the Maine Rules of Probate Procedure that would amend Rule 92.1 of the Maine Rules of Probate Procedure to change the date on which electronic filing in Cumberland, Oxford, Penobscot and York Counties become mandatory, and (2) revisions to Probate Forms PP-208 (Order on Petition for Appointment of Temporary Guardian and Temporary Conservator), PP-209 (Order on Petition for Appointment of Temporary Guardian), and PP-210 (Order on Petition for Appointment of Temporary Conservator). The proposed amendment and revised forms are available below and are available for inspection and copying at the Clerk's office during normal business hours.
The Court invites comments on the proposed amendments and revisions. Any comments should be filed with the Clerk of the Supreme Judicial Court by Monday, March 11, 2013, at 4:00 p.m. Comments in writing should be mailed to the address below. Comments sent via email may be in the text of an email or in an attachment to an email, addressed to firstname.lastname@example.org. If the comments are in an attachment, the attachment must be a document in portable document format (.pdf). The Clerk's Office will acknowledge receipt of the e-mail via a reply e-mail.
All comments must contain (1) the name, mailing address, and telephone number of the individual submitting the comments; and (2) the name, mailing address, and primary telephone number of the organization (if any) on whose behalf the comments are submitted. An individual need not be an attorney to submit comments on behalf of an organization.
