MAINE RISING: Juvenile Justice Summit on December 4, 2009

On Friday, December 4, 2009, the Juvenile Justice Task Force will host MAINE RISING: Juvenile Justice Summit at the Augusta Civic Center. The Juvenile Justice Task Force is a collaboration of the Judicial Branch, the Governor?s Children?s Cabinet, and the University of Maine School of Law.

Co-Chairs Chief Justice Leigh I. Saufley, First Lady Karen Baldacci, Law School Dean Peter Pitegoff have convened a collaborative Task Force to find resources to provide services that will keep youth and their families connected to schools, community resources, and support networks, and thereby reduce crime, enhance graduation rates, and reduce the number of youth housed in Maine?s correctional facilities.
